ABOUT

Lisa has spent the last 25+ years working in ministry in the church, para-church ministries, and the community. After becoming licensed with Open Bible Churches, she spent the next 20+ years teaching, developing ministry and educational programs, providing church lay counseling, professional coaching, and building collaboration between the church and the community. Former positions were on a leadership team of a lay counseling department, on the board of a nonprofit program, and as an adviser to a local school committee.

Lisa received her master’s degree in the Theology of Transformational Leadership. She began her career as a higher education professor while earning her doctoral degree in Philosophy of Leadership (emphasis on leadership, trauma, and posttraumatic growth). Other certifications include mental health first aid with the state of Missouri, master mental health facilitator (emphasis in life coaching) with the American Association of Christian Counselors, board certification as a master mental health coach with the International Board of Christian Care, and as a group trauma training facilitator with the Trauma Healing Institute.

Dr. Christensen is the director of the Master of Theology in Transformational Leadership and an adjunct professor at Barclay College in Haviland, KS. She also remains involved in the local KC area, working with the KC Sending Project/Trauma Healing Institute partnership. Globally, Lisa provides coaching and consulting in her expertise areas of trauma and leadership.

Lisa 

Lisa and her husband, Mike, reside in the Kansas City area. They have two grown children and four grandchildren.
